Our last day in Bocas, we woke up a little late and then wandered around Bocas Town. Our flight wasn't until 1pm, and we were hungry! We went to Starfish Coffee -- a beautiful, peaceful coffee shop (the ONLY one in Bocas Town) and had a scrumptious brunch.
Cayos Zapatillo
Have you ever imagined what it would be like to walk around island? I really thought those cute little tropical islands, ringed by sand and filled in the middle with jungle were straight out of Hollywood movies, but not real. Boy, was I wrong!
Not only is the drive out to Cayos Zapatillo breath-takingly beautiful, the island itself is drop dead gorgeous and an incredible adventure. On the way out we stopped out at Cayo Crawl to snorkel a bit. There were tons of coral formations but, sadly, almost no fish. Once on the island, Amar and I spent the first half of the stop snorkeling in some reefs nearby. The water was a bit choppy, so I wasn't as adventurous as I would have liked to be. Unlike Cayo Crawl, the coral wasn't impressive, but the schools of fish were. There were tons of colorful angel fish and ocean tangs. Even a few schools of silverish baitfish found their way out to this spot.
